KEEP showing up even when the odds are stacked against you. It shows commitment and strength. Beyond that, it expresses love, for what you are doing and connection to a greater purpose. I understand it is tough. Trust me, I’ve been there many times. You got to motivate yourself and march on. Always remember that the race is not with anyone else but yourself. Every step you take is to be a better version of you. Show up and sparkle. That’s the anthem darling, roll with it.
When you feel sluggish, don’t engage in anything new or creative because the energy you are channelling is one of negativity, pessimism and doubt. It’s like taking all the leftovers from your plate and cooking it. Instead, what you need to do is to make a good wholesome stock. Take all these not so tasty bits and simmer them on low flame. Let the juices infuse. Go to your quiet mind first for some regrouping and then to your positive mind to cheer you on. Check in with my earlier post on the differences between a quiet mind and a still mind.
In other words, step out of your zone, go for a walk, doodle or journal. Pour the not so great feelings out. Ask yourself :
a) what is the purpose?
b) how can I make it better?
As you brew this thought and empty out, you start churning bright ideas. Grab them as they come and investigate the options. Give feedback to your work and yourself constructively for purposes of self-improvement. The lessons you learn today helps you grow. Don’t dwell so much on the past. Learn from and approach the next day and days after that with all this new wisdom.
Do not quit at the initial signs of disappointment. Keep persevering. Try and test different methods. There is no one way to touch your nose. Move about and then, get right back into it. Show up and sparkle.
