Stillness

So many sides to you
Calm, collected
Blissful, meditative
Clarity could not be sexier
As you paint the ideal day
Then you stab me with silence
No shadow, song or movement
Feeling empty and unwanted
Sinking feels like the only option
But not just my body, dreams too
And for this, I fight
Keeping still, I search
For your other side
You taught me to listen
To war against the No’s
I tune in
I sense possibilities
I notice emotions
I taste unspoken words
Most of all, I hear my heart
Beating music and breathing life
I lay still
Enjoying this present
A gift not received by many
Tears stream, a smile crinkles
Clinging on, I carry on.
